President Ndayishimiye encourages the cooperatives to boost production

The President of the Republic His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye met on Wednesday in Buringa, in Gihanga commune of Bubanza province, the cooperatives of the Imbo plain engaged in rice cultivation.

To support His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye in his development policy, the farmers are claiming their land that has been despoiled by some administrators for other purposes such as commercial places or playgrounds. President Ndayishimiye spoke in favor of the farmers so that every mouth has food and every pocket has money.

“The rice cooperatives need a lot of chemical fertilizer. They need to benefit directly from FOMI’s chemical fertilizer, without any other known intermediary as a distributor, except SRDI,” President Ndayishimiye responded to the cooperatives’ request.

The members of these cooperatives are asking the Burundian Number One and Supreme Magistrate to come to their rescue because most of the cooperative managers have left behind empty coffers and unjustified and unpaid credits.

President Ndayishimiye recommended to the competent authorities to proceed with the enforcement.
