He challenged them to regularize the citizens within 10 days.

The minister of interior, community development and public security, Gervais Ndirakobuca, gave a period not exceeding ten days to FOMI officials to distribute fertilizer to farmers for this growing season.

In a meeting he held with provincial governors, agricultural officials at the provincial level as well as the representative of the FOMI Company this Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the FOMI headquarters in Bujumbura, Minister Ndirakobuca first listened to governors who explained the needs and complaints of the citizens/farmers in relation to the obtention of fertilizer.

He then ordered this company to regularize the farmers who have already paid their fees within 10 days. In all the provinces, the pressing need for the Imbura variety and the Totahaza variety is felt, with the province of Gitega in the lead.

On the FOMI side, they have promised to work hard to provide this product within the time limits. They have asked for 15 days but the minister reviewed and reduced the number to ten, given the stage already reached by the growing season.
