Cooperation: Melchior Ndadaye International Airport to be rehabilitated

This Saturday, 26 February 2022, a contract was signed about the rehabilitation, modernisation and extension of the Melchior Ndadaye International Airport.

This contract was signed between the Republic of China, represented the Chinese Ambassador to Burundi and the Government of Burundi via the minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, Albert Shingiro.

In a press release that followed the conclusion of that contract, Minister Shingiro indicated that the rehabilitation activities will be conducted by Chinese ingeniors and financed by the same country.

The two authorities explained that the contract was signed in the perspective of reinforcing bilateral relations already strong between the two countries.
