The Head of State, HE Evariste Ndayishimiye, wants that the 2022-2023 budget year will mark a new start towards the economic development of Burundi. He called on the executives of the ministry in charge of trade and those of the ministry of finance, budget and economic cooperation to decide, each as far as they are concerned, on strategies to achieve this vision. President Ndayishimiye made this recommendation to the aforementioned executives during a session of moralization that he organized for them on March 18, 2022, in the premises of the “Centre National d’Appareillage et de réadaptation CNAR” of Gitega.
At the end of the discussions, the spokesperson for the Head of State, Mrs Evelyne Butoyi, indicated that the moralization session to sensitize the participants on the change of their mentality for the adoption of the planning of activities in their respective sectors. For more precision, she said that the ministry in charge of trade is at the same time a productive ministry, arguing that it must thus mobilize all the stakeholders in this sector for the increase in production. The minister of finance, in turn, must channel all public funds into a single platform and jealously watch over their proper management, insisted the Head of State.
