This sunday, August 7, 2022, Urunani Basketball Club played the last game of this year’s Viva Basketball League with their rivals, New Star, a game disputed after Urunani knew they have been crowned champions. The VBL champions crushed their rivals with a score difference of 11 points, i.e. 76 points vs 65.
With 18 games played, Urunani won 17 of them, only losig one game. May sport analysts estimate that they deserved the title, in view of the efforts made is signing new players and giving awards, including cars, to the most performing players. The second place was taken by Gymkana BBC while New star came third in the league classification.
Note that Urunani is the first club to win the Viva Basketball League since its inception under Viva’s sponsorship.
