BDEAC ready to cooperate to stimulate the development of Burundi

During the High Level Youth Forum, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye granted an audience, this Friday, September 16 in Karusi, to the President of the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC), Mr. Dieudonné EVOU MEKOU to exchange on the possibilities of financing some development projects in Burundi.

Elected as the head of the BDEAC 2 months ago, Mr. EVOU MEKOU was keen to visit Burundi, which recently became a member of the Development Bank of Central African States :

“I came to present my greetings to the Head of State as I do as the new president of this bank through all member countries,” said Mr. EVOU MEKOU, who stressed that it was also an opportunity to talk about cooperation opportunities between Burundi and this banking institution.

“The Head of State told him that Burundi has already started the development process and that it needs capital to carry out priority projects”, revealed Mr. Alain Diomède Nzeyimana, Spokesman of the President of the Republic.

Among the projects that could be financed by the credit granted by BDEAC, is the Uvinza-Musongati-Gitega railroad project linking the city of Uvinza in Tanzania to the city of Gitega in Burundi, explained the Spokesman of the President of the Republic.
