Diaspora : Dicobu offers school materials to the needy

On July 30, 2022, more than 300 students benefited from school materials given by Dicobu to indigent children in the commune of Nyanza-Lac in Makamba province. Each student received more than ten notebooks, pens and a latte.

This activity was carried out by Burundians living and working in America in the presence of the president of the Burundian diaspora, Mr. Eric NIRAGIRA. The latter praised the achievements of the Diaspora Initiative for Cooperation of Burundians (DICOBU) which, according to him, gives honor to the whole Burundian Diaspora.

Samuel Ndayiragije, president of Dicobu said that this activity follows another one recently carried out in Rutana, as part of the MWUNGANIRE project which aims to provide schooling to needy children and to get out of hospitals the various Burundians who often remain detained for lack of treatment costs after recovery.

In an interview with Indundi TV, this member of the diaspora indicated that they plan to support these young people until they can go to higher education abroad. This action was highly appreciated by the local administrative officials as well as the parents of the beneficiaries.
