Burundi offers significant opportunities for foreign investors

The President of the Republic His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye returned to Bujumbura, after a two-day visit to Uganda where he participated in the ceremonies of commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the independence of this country, and mobilized investors.

It was on the sidelines of the festivities that he had the opportunity to meet and mobilize Ugandan investors. Indeed, he received in audience the bosses of the company Kinyara Sugar which wishes to bring its expertise in the highly industrialized production of sugar, the development of local farmers and the preservation of soils.

At the end of these exchanges, an appointment was made to start concrete discussions with SOSUMO before the end of this month.

President Ndayishimiye also exchanged with the management team of RENE Industries which operates in the pharmaceutical field. It is one of the reliable suppliers of CAMEBU and is now planning to set up a large drug manufacturing unit in Burundi.

The Burundian president encouraged all other investors, mentioning that Burundi offers great potential due to its geographical location. He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Burundian government to support and facilitate the work of foreign investors.

Before returning to Bujumbura, the Burundian Head of State exchanged with his Ugandan counterpart on issues of common interest before addressing issues of regional scope, including the common will of the Member States of the East African Community to make efforts to eradicate the negative forces that threaten peace and stability in the region, especially in the eastern DRC.
